A Wee Bit About Me.
I’m a full time artist based in Edinburgh, and I specialise in high detailed, realistic pop culture drawings.
I’ve had a passion for art and been drawing since I was very young, but the older I got the less I enjoyed and liked the appeal of art within school or higher education. I learned quickly that the classroom environment was affecting my passion for art. So because of this I don’t hold any formal art training or degrees.
My portfolio of work spans from 2013, when I first started to work on pop culture portraits. It was always just a hobby and something I did for me, but after plenty of motivation and support from friends and family, I began to sell prints and attend comic conventions which I did for a number of years.
It was in 2018 though when I got an opportunity that would change the trajectory of my work and my life.
I was offered a spot within Waverley Market, Edinburgh to sell my work for a few weekends. The success from which spurred me on to quit my steady job and follow the art full time; opening a spot within the Market permanently, giving me the opportunity to combine two of my biggest passions in life whilst also making a living doing so.
I’m just a guy who loves movies and loves to draw, so being able to combine the two is a dream come true.
Now almost 5 years later, I have over a decade worth of work under my belt and some 240+ pieces making up my portfolio of work. But I’m not stopping there, I have hundreds more pieces I’d like to get around to, as well as one day I hope, the opportunity to create movie posters or my own more unique art.
I like to hope that I can inspire anyone of any age that they can create art too. Whether it’s just for them or whether it’s something they’d like to explore as a career too.
No matter your skill level or training - if you have a passion for something; follow it.
